Duties & Responsibilities
Job Description
Core Objectives
Assisting the Travel (Tourism) Sales and Servicing Teams with all system queries.
Assisting the Travel (Tourism) System Support Team to develop its requirements, services and products and meet goals with internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise and manage communication between internal departments and external parties for both support queries and system development projects.
To provide information to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively.
Improve efficiencies and processes on all Travel & Company systems.
Core Responsibilities
Maintenance
Day to day maintenance of all Travel & Company systems.
Fare checks and fare testing.
Travel & Company team support for first point of escalations.
Responsible to work with relevant Tech teams on bugs and smaller enhancements to ensure systems stays relevant and necessary updates are done in time.
Testing for any changes or new requirements that needs to go live.
Attend any system builds / go lives (after hours as required).
Update any relevant stakeholders / team members when there’s changes on systems.
Projects
Support the Travel Systems Development Manager with tasks related to any System Projects.
Stand in during meetings for the manager when required.
Present findings and recommendations to Travel System Development Manager.
Product Support for Online
Work alongside Travel Systems Development Manager to manage all online supplier requirements.
Assist with implementation for changes, updates, and new requirements.
Assist with back-end requirement for campaigns / sales
Training
Create training manuals for all Travel & Company Systems.
Upkeep of manuals and processes during changes.
All systems training for new and existing staff.
Assist Company Training team to put together requirements for other divisions within Company.
Required working hours:
Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Monthly system release (Generally on a Sunday morning. Time required for testing may vary depending on the deployment).
Adhoc system releases due to supplier updates.
Standby (alternating weeks with other team members).
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
Matric qualification.
Skills
Galileo experience essential. Broad knowledge of travel system capabilities and integrations. The ability to learn quickly. The ability to contribute to a team effort. A logical approach to problem solving. Good interpersonal and client-handling skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail. Business awareness. A methodical, investigative, and inquisitive mind. Initiative and self-confidence. The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects within your project timeframes. A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change. Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach. A strong interest in business and business development. A good understanding of information technology.
